Freshcamp

I like music. I like music a lot. I especially love finding oscure bands and albums (Spotify has the tag hipster for these cases), listen to them a lot and sometimes buy their vinyl if applicable. Here are some examples.

I absoluted LOVED https://everynoise.com/ and used to spend way too much time on that site. And i’ve yet to find something that semi-automatically sends me new and unknown stuff with a high percentage of me liking that. Subreddits are nice, but as soon as you’ve figure out, most of them turn into a semi-circly meme around the common goods (looking at you /r/mathrock) - but credit where it’s due: TTNG’s Disappointment Island is actually quite a good album.

But i digress: I wanted some playlist that’s not Spotifys Recommendation Algorithm but actually tires to preserve a sense of Genre, so I looked at Bandcamp and figured they have a Latest Releases page I could get my Info from. So i tinkered around a bit and created Freshcamp, which in spite of its super-unoriginal name tries to keep you up-to-date with latest and obscure and weird bands that upload their music tagged with specific genres. I tapped some of these genres and create a playlist on Spotify with one random Track of their uploaded Album that was found within the latest three release-pages on Bandcamp.

You can find the Playlists here: https://freshcamp.krizz.org/

Feel free to hit me up with more Genre-Ideas. Additionally there’ll be a small change in the near future as i want to keep track of new releases every day but only update the Playlist once - so i can have more variety as not only music that’s being released on Thursday/Friday will be considered.
